Drug Name Benicar (olmesartan)
Drug Uses Benicar is used to treat high blood pressure, alone or with other drugs. It can also be used for other conditions determined by your doctor.
How to use Ask your health care provider any questions you may have on how to use Benicar. Use Benicar in accordance with the doctor's instructions.
- Benicar by mouth with or without food.
Drug Class and MechanismIt is by inhibiting the action of the chemical transmitter (angiotensin Ⅱ), and allows blood vessels to dilate (expand) and kidney remove excess sodium and fluid. Benicar is the angiotensin Ⅱ receptor antagonist. These actions combine to help lower blood pressure.
Missed DoseIf it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missing dose and return to your normal dose of the list. If you miss a dose of Benicar, put it as soon as possible. Do not take 2 doses once.
StorageTo keep away from children and pets far away Benicar. Benicar at room temperature storage between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Keep away from heat, humidity and light.
Warnings/Precautions Use Benicar with caution.
Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Benicar to receive any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery. Talk to your doctor before using salt substitutes or a product, it has potassium. It is not known if Benicar is found in breast milk. If you think you may be pregnant, contact your doctor. Patients taking drug treatment of hypertension often feel tired or shortened for a few weeks after starting treatment. Do not take while breastfeeding Benicar. Do not forget to take medicine, even if you can not feel normal.
Important: - Benicar may cause dizziness. Do not move or perform tasks, other may not be safe until you know your response to this. Do not use Benicar, if:
- You are allergic to any ingredient, Benicar;
- You are pregnant, especially in the first three months. These effects may be worse if you take it with alcohol or certain drugs. Tell your doctor if you develop any new symptoms.
- Benicar should not be used in children, safety and effectiveness in children have not yet been confirmed.
Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of them attracted to you. - Pregnancy and breast-feeding: Benicar may cause fetal and neonatal death if you take it when you are pregnant.
