Estraderm TTS (estradiol transdermal)

  Estrogen increases the risk of endometrial hyperplasia, conditions that can lead to uterine cancer. Use of effective forms of birth control while you are using this treatment. If you do not remove the uterus, the doctor may prescribe progesterone that you get using the estradiol group. Your doctor should check your progress on a regular basis (every 3 to 6 months) to decide whether to continue treatment. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant during treatment. Do not use if you give your baby children. Estrogen can enter the milk and may harm the baby. Talk to your doctor to discuss your personal risk, before using estradiol long term.

• Hypertension, angina or heart disease;
• High cholesterol or triglycerides;
• Liver disease;
• Kidney disease;
• Asthma;
• Epilepsy or other diseases;
• Migraine;
• Diabetes;
• Depression;
• Gallbladder disease, or
• If you have your uterus removed (hysterectomy). To use both estrogen and progesterone may reduce this risk. This medicine may also slow the production of milk.
  
  Long-term estrogen therapy may increase the risk of stroke. Do not use estradiol transdermal if you are pregnant.
