Glucophage (metformin)

Glucophage for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. It can be used alone or with other anti-diabetic drugs. This is used with diet and exercise.

Glucophage is bihuanidiv hypoglycemic. It also helps make your body more sensitive to insulin, your natural production. By reducing the amount of sugar, liver and intestinal absorption produced.

Do not use Glucophage if:

• If you have a history of heart problems (such as heart failure), lung or breathing difficulties, thyroid disease, stomach or intestines (such as paralysis, blockage), adrenal or pituitary problems, or lactic acidosis
• If you have vomiting, diarrhea, poor health and nutrition, low levels of calcium in the blood or blood vitamin B12, or anemic, or if you are dehydrated
• If you have an infection, fever, recent trauma or moderate to severe burns
• If you drink alcohol or alcohol history
• If you have surgery or procedures, a number of laboratories
• If you are taking β-blockers (eg propranolol)
