Drug Name Simplicef (tsefpodoksym)
Drug Uses Simplicef tablets for the treatment of skin infections (wounds and abscesses) in dogs caused by susceptible strains:
- Intermediate Staphylococcus aureus;
- Staphylococcus aureus;
- Dog Streptococcus (G group, hemolytic);
- Escherichia coli;
- Pasteurella multocida and Proteus.
How to use- Dose range of Simplicef (tsefpodoksym proksetyl) tablets 5-10 mg / kg (2.3-4.5 mg / lb) body weight, orally once a day. Doses can be given or without food.
Simplicef tablets should be given once a day 2-3 days 5-7 days after the cessation of clinical symptoms, the highest 28 days. Samples obtained for culture and sensitivity test bacteria before antibiotic treatment. Determination of doses each patient must take into account the nature of these factors and severity of infection, pathogen susceptibility and integrity of the host defense mechanisms of patients. Once the results come out and continue to appropriate treatment. Treatment of acute infections should not last more than 3-4 days, if no response to treatment observed.
