Drug Name Tofranil (imipramin)
Drug UsesTofranil for depression. It can also be used for other conditions determined by your doctor. It can also be used for some children to help reduce bedwetting.
How to useThis may take 1-3 weeks before you notice of Tofranil. Please read it.
Tofranil is equipped with an additional patient information sheet, called to guide treatment. Use of Tofranil in accordance with the doctor's instructions.
Tofranil at bedtime may help reduce side effects (such as drowsiness during the day.) Discuss this possibility with your doctor. Do not miss any doses.
Tofranil by mouth with or without food. Read it again, each filled by Tofranil. Check the dosage on the label instructions exactly. Continued use of Tofranil if you feel good.
Drug Class and MechanismTofranil is a tricyclic antidepressant. By increasing the activity of certain chemicals in the brain to help lift the mood.
Missed Dose Do not take 2 doses once. If you need a day before going to bed, do not lose the dose the next morning. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missing dose and return to your normal dose of the list. If you miss a dose of Tofranil, put it as soon as possible.

- Azole antifungal agents (eg, fluconazole), cimetidine, duloksetyn, flekayinid, methyl, Mibefradil, fenotiazyny (such as aminazyn) propafenon, hinidyn, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SIZZS) (eg fluoksetyn), or terbinafine because they may increase the risk of Tofranil "side
- Arsenic, astemizol, droperydol, furazolidon, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (such as fenelzin) pimozyd, streptogramins (such as dalfopristin), terfenadyn, or tramadol because the risk of high blood pressure, serious heart problems (such as heart rhythm disorder) or seizures may increase
- Barbiturates (eg, phenobarbital) or phenytoin because they may reduce the effectiveness of Tofranil "
- Anticholinergic (eg, benztropine), carbamazepine, or a case (such as fenilefryn), because they may increase the risk of side effects to Tofranil
- Klofelin, guanethidine, or huanfatsyn because their effectiveness may be reduced to Tofranil
Do not use Tofranil, if: - You are allergic to any ingredient, Tofranil;
- Do you have monoamine oxidase inhibitor, or furazolidon (IMAO) (eg fenelzin) in the past 14 days, or if you are taking astemizol, droperydol or terfenadynu.
Some medical conditions may be associated with Tofranil.
