Toprol XL (metoprolol)

It can also be used for other conditions determined by your doctor. Toprol XL is used to treat high blood pressure, alone or with other drugs, long-term treatment of chest pain and reduce the risk of death was due to heart problems in patients who had a heart attack.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have on the use of Toprol XL. Importantly, you will not miss any scheduled appointments.

Toprol XL is a β-receptor blockers. By reducing the workload of the heart do (to reduce chest pain) and blood, heart milkshake (lower high blood pressure). It can also be used to stabilize the heart rhythm condition, very fast or irregular heart rhythm.

If you miss the dose of Toprol XL, use it as soon as possible. Do not use 2 doses once. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missing dose and return to your normal dose of the list.

Keep away from heat, humidity and light. Toprol XL out of reach to keep away from children and pets. Abstract stored in temperatures from 59 to 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) is not allowed. Do not store in the bathroom. Toprol XL 77 stores the temperature degrees Fahrenheit (25 degrees Celsius).

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of them attracted to you. If your doctor decide you should no longer use Toprol XL, you have to gradually stop the Toprol XL for directions to your doctor. Do not use Toprol XL if:

• You are allergic to any ingredient Toprol XL;
• You have a very slow heart rate (eg, bradycardia, atrioventricular block), heart failure control diuretics (eg furosemide) and digoxin, or very low blood pressure (less than 100 mm Hg) ;
• You are taking Mibefradil. Do not forget to take medicine, even if you do not feel "normal" Tell your doctor if you develop any new symptoms.
• Laboratory tests, including liver, kidney function, blood pressure, total blood cells, you can do when you use Toprol XL. Toprol XL is found in breast milk. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Toprol XL while you are pregnant. Check blood sugar levels closely. Be sure to keep all doctor and laboratory use. If you are or will be breast-feeding in the use of Toprol XL, talk to your doctor. These tests can be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects.
• Tell your doctor or dentist that you take Toprol XL, in any medical or dental care, emergency care, or surgery.
• Do not take any medicines to treat colds or congestion without first consulting your doctor or pharmacist.
• If you have angina (chest pain), or other heart problems, do not suddenly stop taking Toprol XL without first consulting a doctor.
• Patients often feel tired or reduced blood pressure for several weeks after treatment.
• Pregnancy and breast-feeding: If you are pregnant, contact your doctor.

  • Do not move or perform tasks, other may not be safe until you know your response to this.
  • If your doctor's instructions, check your blood pressure and heart rate regularly, be sure to do this.
• Toprol XL extra care to use child safety and effectiveness have not yet been confirmed. Discuss any possible risks, your baby.
• Diabetes - Toprol XL may affect blood sugar levels. Ask your doctor, and then change the dose of medication diabetes.
